What is Canadian Citizenship Test?

The Canadian citizenship test is a comprehensive examination that requires extensive preparation, which entails understanding and being able to articulate the rights and responsibilities of becoming a citizen of Canada as well as demonstrating one's knowledge about the country's history, economy, geography, government, legal system, and culture.

To become a Canadian citizen you must pass the Canadian Citizenship Test. To ensure successful completion of the exam, it is essential to familiarize oneself with the facts and information written in Discover Canada Study Guide, published by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The test is:

  • in English or French
  • 30 minutes long
  • 20 questions
  • multiple-choice and true-or-false questions

You need to get 15 correct answers to pass the test.
